The Auburn Alehouse produces several styles of fresh, high-quality ales and lagers ranging from a light, crisp lager or ale, designed to be an introduction or transitional beer for our novice guests, to a hoppy West Coast style Pale Ale as well as a full-bodied dark colored stout, to appease our craft-beer aficionados.
All beers are brewed using traditional ingredients like malted barley, hops, fresh water and yeast as well as some specialty ingredients like wheat, maize, spices and regional fruits. Auburn Alehouse is developing a reputation as an innovative and exciting place to enjoy both traditional and unusual beers. The following menu is a compilation of our house brews, with at least 6-8 beers on tap at any given time. Hard Cider and select "guest" craft beers will also be available on draught.

AUBURN EXPORT LAGER
Our lightest brew is a bright-golden colored lager that enjoys a crisp, delicate balance of malt and German "noble" hops. This refreshing lager is fermented at cooler temperatures, for much longer periods with the Alehouse's authentic "lager" yeast, giving it a smooth, clean taste. A perfect "cross-over" beer for the new craft beer drinker.
GOLD COUNTRY PILSNER
Brewed in the classic American pilsner style, our popular pils is a tribute to the pre-prohibition lagers developed and brewed by immigrant German brewmasters as they settled in the United States in the1800s. This is a medium-bodied straw colored pilsner with an elegant hop bitterness and lingering aroma.
MINER'S WHEAT ALE
Unfiltered wheat beer, American-style! Our "Hefe" is brewed with 65% malted wheat which is responsible for its creamy white foam and refreshing taste.
Old Town Brown
Our medium-bodied Brown Ale has a smooth yet complex maltiness from a special blend of roasted and caramel malts. Nicely balanced with English and American grown hops!
Shanghai Stout
Full-bodied with roasted, coffee undertones, our stout is mashed with over 100 pounds of oats to give it a smooth, creamy profile. Nitrogenation is employed to produce a thick, creamy head and to enhance drinkability. Its name is a tribute to the former bar and restaurant that formerly occupied ours! The Brewmaster's wife's favorite!
AMERICAN RIVER PALE ALE
This West Coast classic pale ale is refreshingly drinkable. A pleasant malt profile gives way to an assertive fresh hop flavor, with a dry citrus hop aroma and orangey fruitiness in the finish.
Gold Digger IPA
Here's a nugget that James Marshall missed! Pale and crystal malts provide the backbone and golden hue, while Magnum, Simcoe and Chinook hops do the dancing on your tongue. Late hop additions to the kettle and aging on the "dry hop" give our India Pale Ale hop aroma and flavor worth digging for!
Fool's Gold Ale
The Pale that packs a punch! Foolish amounts of pale malted barley and a ton of fresh Pacific Northwest hops put this crowd favorite somewhere between a strong ale and a double IPA. Don't let the golden color fool you; this nugget weighs in at 7.8% ABV!!
Old Prospector Barleywine
A perennial favorite! This is a very complex ale with alcohol approaching wine-like strength. Rich and intense malt and hop flavors that partner perfectly with cold winter evenings and cigars! Occasionally aged in slightly "wet" bourbon barrels!
Brewer's Pub Ale
Our seasonal or monthly special brew! Ask us what Pub Brewed Special Brian has on tap! Seasonals and specials could include: Oktoberfest Lager, MacFord's Irish Ale, Barrel-aged Barleywine Ale, Cask Ales, Belgian-style fruit lambics, and "wit" beers, just to name a few!
